HDR’s Dallas Architecture Studio Welcomes Lance Winn

Lance Winn has joined HDR’s Dallas architecture studio as a Senior Healthcare Planner. His career has been focused on healthcare architecture from the beginning, and he is truly passionate about it. He considered working in the medical profession as a teenager, but considers his role in the architecture field to be a great privilege: “I can’t do what talented clinicians do, but I can help them do it.”

In his role as a Senior Healthcare Planner, Lance doesn’t see any limits to the possibilities thanks to HDR’s large and diverse team, unparalleled resources and commitment to delivery at the highest level, he says. “Planners realize the power of change and thrive on opportunities to create an improved future through healing patients, comforting families, and supporting caregivers.”

He has been involved in all phases of projects throughout his 25-year career, which eventually led to his interest in planning. In addition to achieving his EDAC certification and LEED accreditation, Lance has been published in industry publications and he has presented at industry conferences. He has also served as a guest lecturer and mentor in Texas Tech University’s healthcare design studios.

He considers his top three skills to be his keen understanding of the importance of collaboration, his dedication to overcoming barriers in communication between architects and their clients, and his determination to share knowledge with the next generation of planners.

“Lance strives to translate the client’s vision into an effective design solution that inspires, supports, and heals. We’re excited to have Lance join our Health Planning team, and we welcome his healthcare expertise to the Dallas office and HDR as a whole.”
