Carlson Joins HDR to Focus on Marine and Materials Handling Projects
Jenny Carlson has joined HDR as a senior project manager in the firm’s Vancouver, Washington, office. In her new position, Carlson will fortify the team’s heavy industrial experience, with a focus on marine and materials handling projects.
She comes to HDR from OBEC Consulting Engineers, where she served as project manager and lead structural engineer. Throughout her 35-year career, Carlson has led industrial clients to engineering solutions for marine structures, bulk and break bulk cargo handling projects, oil terminals, steel mills, aluminum plants, pulp and paper, food processing and power plants. She recently designed emergency structural repairs and performed other services to support construction for Vigor Industrial Shipbuilding Company’s Portland shipyard to allow the successful launch of a new, 500-foot-long, 14,000-ton barge over an existing wharf.
Carlson is a registered structural engineer with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Purdue University. She’s a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and previously served as president for the Structural Engineers Association of Oregon.
