Data-Driven Design Team Enhances Modeling Capabilities, Welcomes Industrial Engineer
Sean Carr, Ph.D., has joined HDR as an industrial designer within the global data-driven design team. Based in Dallas, Carr will focus on integrating simulation modeling, analytics and computational design to improve project outcomes.
Carr earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in industrial engineering from the University of Missouri. He went on to earn his Ph.D., also in industrial engineering, from North Carolina State. He spent the last three years with Page Southerland Page, Inc., where he worked on healthcare and academic master plans.
“HDR is advancing the use of data in design, and I’ve always wanted to work with people whose singular goal is to make a positive impact on people's lives through the vehicle of their expertise,” Carr said. “I’m excited to join HDR’s talent pool; an impressive team with a willingness to push boundaries.”
Carr’s past experience includes simulation modeling in the railway, manufacturing and biotech industries, statistical consulting in the pharmaceutical industry and analytics for architecture.
“Sean is a talented simulation modeler and computer programmer who grasps analytical applications with rigor,” said Scott Foral, director of consulting at HDR. “His presence on our data-driven design team will open doors for new opportunities to expand our capabilities and evolve our simulation expertise.”
