HDR Bolsters Northeast Remediation Practice with Additions of McDonald and Cattafe

Two industry-leading experts have joined HDR’s remediation practice. They are Shane McDonald and Joseph Cattafe, who have joined HDR as a senior technical leader, hydrogeology/modeling, and a senior hydrogeologist, respectively. In their new roles, McDonald and Cattafe will focus on expanding HDR’s remediation practice in the Northeast region, joining a 60-person remediation team that supports work in that area.

Shane McDonald

Before joining HDR, McDonald was principal associate, hydrogeology and groundwater modeling with the Louis Berger Group. He has more than 35 years of in-depth global experience in environmental water supply and geotechnical projects. He also has extensive experience evaluating geologic and hydrogeological data and computer models, and groundwater.  He holds a bachelor of science degree in geology and a master of engineering degree in systems engineering. He is based in HDR’s Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, office.

Joseph Cattafe

Prior to joining HDR, Cattafe was with CDM Smith in various positions in technical management and support, and task management. He is a geologist with more than 33 years of comprehensive environmental experience in hydrogeology relating to hazardous waste, solid waste and groundwater supply issues. He has worked with a variety of federal and private clients on remedial action programs throughout the Northeast region. He holds bachelor of science and master of science degrees, both in geology. He is based in the firm’s Mahwah, New Jersey office.
