HDR Strengthens Water Economic Consulting with Alex Shannon Hire
Alex Shannon has joined HDR’s Bellevue, Washington, office as an economist in utility management services for HDR’s water practice. In his new position, Shannon will focus on adding to the firm’s strong economic consulting and public finance services, specifically in the water, wastewater, and stormwater practices, as well as other infrastructure areas both locally and nationally.
Shannon comes to HDR from Jacobs/CH2M where he worked on projects in a variety of roles in economic analysis, project prioritization, and cash flow modeling for water/wastewater utilities and transportation clients. He also led the economic modeling and analytics team. His expertise lies in optimizing the implementation of utilities’ capital improvement programs and helping them make informed, data-driven decisions that provide the best value. Using models, he is able to evaluate alternatives in real-time and present results to all levels of stakeholders.
Shannon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and international political economy from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington.
“We continue to be faced with competing forces for our resources in this world. It’s important that we approach projects with an economic mindset to maximize value for our communities and ensure sustainable resources for generations to come,” Shannon said. “I am excited to join the incredible team at HDR, with a culture that truly cares about each other and serving our clients.”
