HDR’s Dave Clark, wastewater director, has been named a WEF Fellow by the Water Environment Federation Board of Trustees. Clark is a renowned presenter on water quality planning, nutrient management and regulatory negotiations. He and other recipients of the prestigious recognition were honored at an awards ceremony in conjunction with WEFTEC 2018 currently underway in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Founded in 2011, the WEF Fellows Program recognizes the professional achievement, stature and contributions of WEF members to the preservation and enhancement of the global water environment. WEF Fellows are nominated by their peers citing their contributions to the industry.

One nominator noted Clark's technical contributions to the water environment and industry and also a non-technical aspect that he believes is a key attribute of WEF Fellows and water sector leaders, which is Clark's "quiet, yet determined, passion for water." He continued, "Dave is one of the unsung water sector greats who are able to consider all points of view and help participants successfully reach consensus on sometimes difficult and polarizing subjects. He has the unique ability to connect to, and share his considerable knowledge with a diverse audience in a very effective manner, and he is able to explain complex situations to both lay persons and technical experts, humbly and respectfully to all.”

Clark, who is based in the Boise, Idaho office, has a 38-year career, including 21 years at HDR. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science, both in civil engineering from the University of Washington.
