HDR’s McMahon Receives Prestigious FMA Award
Mike McMahon, senior-hydrometerologist with HDR, has been awarded the Harold Sternbeck Medal for best paper and presentation at the 2018 Floodplain Management Australia National Conference.
The medal is awarded at the annual FMA conference to recognize excellence for the best paper presentation. McMahon is the first international (non-Australian) recipient of the award. There were a total of 89 presentations. His presentation is entitled, "Harvey, Irma, Debbie, Marcia and Yasi: A Dysfunctional Cyclone Family."
McMahon attended and presented at the FMA conference, as well as hosting a pre-conference training session. He was joined by Mark Forest, HDR’s floodplain practice leader, who also gave a pre-conference training session.
