Mike Pattinson to Lead Corporate and Commercial Interiors Practice in HDR’s San Francisco Office

Mike Pattinson

Mike Pattinson has joined HDR’s San Francisco architecture studio as interior design principal as part of a larger strategic goal to grow the portfolio of work in San Francisco and advance the firm’s design capabilities.

A long-time Bay Area resident, Pattinson has spent 22 of his 30 years in the architecture industry leading projects there. Prior to joining HDR, he was principal, president of BSA Architects in San Francisco.

An active participant in the design community, Pattinson is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, IIDA and the British Institute of Interior Design. He is also an International Associate member of AIA.

Pattinson is charged with developing a local corporate/commercial interiors practice focused on high-end design projects, with an equally important focus on mentorship for new and current staff.  “It’s an honor to be entrusted to not only strengthen HDR’s interior design capabilities here in the Bay Area, but to also help clients realize their vision through innovative and improved workplace environments,” said Pattinson. “I look forward to working with this team of talented professionals as we seek to better serve the community.”

“Adding Mike to our local practice is a testament to our commitment to continue developing strong teams that will deliver inspiring design solutions to our clients,” said Michael Orr, managing principal of the San Francisco architecture studio. “Mike will champion additional growth of our portfolio, and we’re excited about what’s to come.”

HDR’s growth and expansion of its architectural practice’s services in northern California over the past eight years led to a recent move to 201 California Street, where nearly 150 design professionals provide architecture and engineering design services.
