Rob Mahurin to Lead Expanded Interior Design Practice at HDR’s Dallas Architecture Studio

Rob Mahurin

Rob Mahurin, MS, RID, has joined HDR as an interior design principal and practice leader. As part of the firm’s expanded growth in the Dallas/Fort Worth market, Mahurin is charged with developing a corporate/commercial interiors practice focused on high-end design projects, seeking the highest quality of design refinement possible. An equally important aspect of Mahurin’s role will allow him to provide mentorship and professional development guidance to current and future staff.

With more than 32 years of commercial interiors experience, Mahurin  joined HDR following his role as a creative and design director for the interior design firm, Interprise Design. It was there that he said he reshaped the brand and industry awareness of the firm’s design capabilities. In addition to his corporate interiors portfolio, he has also worked on retail, hospitality, healthcare and multi-family housing projects.

“The opportunity to build a regional interiors practice within a respected global firm such as HDR is one I am incredibly excited about and most grateful for,” said Mahurin. “I’m particularly looking forward to not only providing clients with impeccable service and innovative designs, but also fostering the development of our staff.”

“Rob brings a wealth of diverse leadership experience to our team, which will greatly impact our continued growth in the Dallas/Fort Worth area,” said Harold Thompson, managing principal of HDR’s Dallas architecture studio. “We’re pleased to have him on board and look forward to what’s to come for our practice.”

The expanded studio will offer clients and projects a broad scope of services to include programming, space planning, schematic design, design development/construction documents and construction administration.
