Usman Tariq Selected as Leadership L.A. Fellow
Usman Tariq, P.E., PMP, managing principal of the Los Angeles architecture studio, has been selected as a Leadership L.A. Class of 2018 Fellow.
Leadership L.A. is a Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Southern California Leadership Network program that receives more than 200 applications per year. Through classroom and experiential learning, the nine-month fellowship dives into issues including education, economic development, law and government, healthcare, agriculture and innovation.
The goals of the program include a broader understanding of Los Angeles County’s unique assets and the challenges facing the region; knowing where to go and who to call upon for innovative solutions; and the ability to respond to the leadership challenges and opportunities.
Among its alumni are civic-minded thinkers and diverse leaders who are driving change through their elected offices, leadership at key California companies and dedication to nonprofit organizations.
“At HDR, we’re working on iconic and transformative projects that will shape the future of the Los Angeles community,” Tariq said. “We’re engaging in civic leadership so we understand the issues that matter most to our citizens, and Leadership L.A. is a natural extension of our efforts. I am excited to contribute to its rich tradition of fostering cross-sector collaboration to tackle these issues.”
