$5.4B Sites Reservoir Program Management Win for HDR
HDR was selected by the Sites Project Authority to provide project integration (program management) for the Sites Reservoir Project. With a $5.4 billion budget, this program will create a new 1.8 million-acre-foot surface reservoir.
Sites Reservoir will be located in northern California, approximately 10 miles west of the city of Maxwell, in the Sacramento River watershed. This new facility will greatly increase the reliability of statewide water supplies for environmental, agricultural and urban uses by maximizing the diversion and storage of excess storm event flows in the Sacramento River.
Sites is an innovative and modern water storage project that goes well beyond water supply and flood protection by adding flexibility and generating a much-needed new water source for providing seasonal fish flows, improving water quality, providing drought relief and addressing climate change.
