Advocate Outpatient Centers Project Team Wins Distinction Award
After 27 outpatient clinics and over 425,000 square feet of construction, the Advocate Outpatient Center Integrated Lean Project Delivery team has been honored with the 2019 Symposium Distinction Team Award at the Healthcare Facilities Symposium and Expo in Boston.
The Team Award focuses on a project team that has worked together to change the face of healthcare design through innovation, creativity, efficiency and teamwork. This team embodies that description and includes Advocate, HDR, Boldt, IMEG, Martin Peterson Co., Glass Solutions Inc., Huen Electric, LeJeune, and Rockwell.
“This is a highly-efficient team that is dedicated to fine-tuning their process over and over again to achieve the best results possible,” said Mike Doiel, HDR’s director of alternative delivery. “The design continues to improve with each new clinic because we are working as a true team and not as individual people or companies.”
Each organization works together from design to delivery of Advocate Outpatient Centers for the Chicagoland area that are based on a core module that is repeatable, scalable and adaptable to each individual community’s needs.
The efficiency of this team shows in the numbers. In 2017, the ILPD team achieved 14.07% savings on project costs and have already achieved the 80% diverted waste goal by reaching 87.5%, or 899.25 tons, of waste diverted in 2018. The latest outpatient clinic, Advocate Outpatient Center Lakeview, was completed in just 23 weeks.
