HDR welcomes Drazen Ahmedic, AIA, CGC, as managing principal of the Tampa, Florida architecture studio. With a strong focus in the healthcare, science and education sectors, Ahmedic has nearly 20 years of professional experience in the industry.

Originally from Bosnia, Ahmedic is a registered architect and certified general contractor. He has a passion for design and how it influences human behavior.

“I am passionately pursuing every opportunity to deliver meaningful architecture, which can only be delivered if employees have a purpose or meaning associated with their everyday work,” said Drazen. “My goal is to provide our staff the lens to see greater meaning beyond designing spaces and to design to elevate the human spirit.”

In addition to growing the Tampa architecture practice, Ahmedic’s responsibilities include setting the strategic vision for the practice, developing local staff and providing quality assurance.

“Drazen brings a deep understanding of Florida markets and a history of collaborating with healthcare and academic clients throughout the state,” said Eric Jaffe, East region director of architecture. “We are thrilled to have him leading our team in Tampa and continuing our strategic expansion in the region.”

He has been a resident and active member of the Tampa community for more than a decade. Ahmedic is a Leadership Tampa Bay alumnus and serves on the board for the ACE Mentor program of Tampa Bay.
