HDR Promotes Three Interior Designers to Principal
Three interior designers in HDR’s global interior practice have recently been promoted to principal: Danielle Masucci, IIDA; Susan Suhar, IIDA, LEED AP, RID; and Lauren Andrysiak, IIDA. These three were recognized for their creative leadership and strong sense of design; each will be responsible for setting the design and practice vision for their respective local interiors studio, in alignment with firm-wide design goals.
“We look to Danielle, Susan and Lauren to provide inspiration and set the design direction for projects in all markets,” said Gary Wheeler, FIIDA, FASID, global director of interior design and workplace strategy. “This role requires each of them to embody high standards of design excellence and innovation, as well as an entrepreneurial approach to interior design, as an integrated component of the firm's total design strategy.”
Based in the Princeton, New Jersey, office, Masucci's experience has included involvement in all aspects of strategic facilities research, visioning, planning and interior design. She champions a collaborative approach with integrated project teams, motivated to create a strong design story that informs effective design solutions that align with clients’ core objectives. She strives to translate concepts to materiality and space, always mindful of the experience we create in the built environment. Masucci shares her passion for design and the creative process with her team to build a strong culture that honors inspiration, investigation and innovation.
An accomplished design professional with over 20 years of experience in both healthcare and workplace environments, Suhar is committed to client service, project excellence and sustainable design. With an extensive background in design conceptualizing and strategy and space planning, she delivers solutions that support the client’s needs, vision and brand while enhancing the overall interior experience. Through the creative process of discovery, distilling and defining, Suhar creates environments that are restorative, inspiring and contribute to occupant well-being.
An integral member of the Chicago, Illinois, office with more than 16 years of experience, Andrysiak is passionate about delivering unique, human-centered solutions with multidisciplinary teams. She explores ideas of community, compassion and the ability of space to impact health, behavior and the human spirit. Her process encourages exploration of the built environment to deliver thoughtful, delightful and engaging experiences, and she has a natural enthusiasm for empowering others, mentorship and collaboration.
