Dan Thomas Returns to HDR in Dallas
Dan Thomas, AIA, ACHA, NCARB, EDAC, has rejoined HDR as a Health Principal in the Dallas studio. In this position, Thomas will lead HDR’s health practice in the Dallas area, employing over 25 years of experience in patient-centered healthcare design and planning.
Thomas has a long history of successful projects with HDR on his resume. He returns with a depth of experience in the business side of architecture and leading teams, and says he is looking forward to winning compelling healthcare work and continuing to grow a strong practice in the South region.
“I am looking forward to working at a firm like HDR where I can have a hand in investing in the future of healthcare by building knowledge within our practice and mentoring the next generation of designers,” Thomas said. “With this new opportunity, I will have the chance to build upon my project experience and employ my passion for enhancing health in behavioral and rural settings.”

Thomas recently served as vice president and health care director at CRTKL in Dallas. Prior to his role at CRTKL, Thomas was a principal and senior vice president at HKS. Prior to his role at HKS, Thomas was an associate vice president and senior healthcare architect at HDR.
Thomas earned a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree at Texas A&M University where he remains heavily involved as a member of the Texas A&M University Health Industry Advisory Council, a program dedicated to improving health outcomes through design and empowering future healthcare design professionals through mentorship.
