HDR Solidifies Place Among Top Environmental Firms
No. 4 in Environmental Science and No. 9 Overall Among Environmental Firms
HDR just broke into an upper tier of an industry ranking, capturing the No. 9 spot for top environmental firms by revenue.
“Amazing work by a tremendously diverse field of experts,” said John Duschang, director of the firm's environmental sciences and planning practice. “Whether a project involves land, air or water, our blend of scientists continue to add value to our economic, social and natural environments.”
The rankings appear in the annual list of the Top 200 Environmental Firms published by Engineering News-Record. The edition provides a look at key players, based on prior year revenue, in the global environmental services market — in areas from hazardous and nuclear waste cleanup to environmental sciences and water/wastewater treatment facility design and construction.
The more than 1,000 professionals that make up HDR’s environmental sciences team contributed their talents in achieving $1.1 billion in revenue last year. That accounts for approximately 44% of HDR’s total revenue.
“We are committed to reducing our environmental impact, and it’s encouraging to see we stand near the front of the crowd in that effort,” Duschang said.
Here’s where HDR currently stands in specific environmental services (parentheses indicate 2019 ranking):
- No. 4 – Environmental Science (4)
- No. 6 – Construction Management/Program Management (6)
- No. 9 – Consulting/Studies (10)
- No. 10 – Engineering/Design (9)
- No. 15 – Wastewater Treatment (15)
- No. 15 – Water Treatment/Supply (unranked)
