HDR's Ahmedic Named to Tampa Bay Business Journal's 40 Under 40
Drazen Ahmedic, AIA, CGC, managing principal of HDR’s Tampa architecture studio, has been recognized by the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 list. The Top 40 Under 40 recognizes businesspeople who have achieved success in their industries and demonstrate a commitment to bettering Tampa Bay.
This year’s 40 businesspeople represent a wide variety of Tampa Bay businesses, from Tampa General Hospital and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority. Honorees were chosen from almost 500 nominations and 215 submissions.
Originally from Bosnia, Ahmedic is a registered architect and certified general contractor. Ahmedic received a Master of Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has a passion for design and how it influences human behavior.
He has been a resident and active member of the Tampa community for more than a decade. Ahmedic is a Leadership Tampa Bay alumnus and serves on the board for the Construction Management Association of America and previously served as a board member for the ACE Mentor program of Tampa Bay.
“In the short time Drazen has been a part of our company, he has not only been able to quickly acclimate to the culture, develop a high skill of our systems and instill a rigor and work ethic into the office, but he has also created an opportunity for the firm to expand our architectural operations into other regions of Florida," said Eric Jaffe, east region director of architecture. "Drazen is most deserving of this esteemed recognition.”
“Drazen radiates passion in everything that he does. You can see it in his drive to win the best projects, recruit and retain the best staff, and deliver the best financial results to HDR’s employee-owners," said Melanie Fowler, Tampa office principal. "He has a team-first attitude and a strong desire to build a network within HDR. We are so proud to see him recognized by our business community.”
