Robert Beduhn Appointed to ASCE Energy, Environment and Water Policy Committee
Robert Beduhn, P.E., director of dams, levees and civil works at HDR, has been appointed to the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Energy, Environment and Water Policy Committee. The committee develops and maintains ASCE policies related to the areas of energy, environment and water.
This latest appointment continues his long-standing leadership with ASCE. Beduhn previously served as the chair of the alternative infrastructure finance committee for ASCE's Coastal Oceans Ports and Rivers Institute. He was also a member of the committee for Water Wastewater and Inundation Systems within ASCE's Infrastructure Resilience Division.
Throughout his career, Beduhn has been engaged in some of the largest infrastructure and environmental projects in North America. He has led some of HDR's most complex dam, levee and hydraulics engineering assignments involving flood management, water supply, sediment management and interior storm water management systems.
Founded in 1852, ASCE represents more than 150,000 civil engineers worldwide and is America's oldest national engineering society. The organization works to raise awareness of the need to maintain and modernize the nation's infrastructure using sustainable and resilient practices, advocate for increasing and optimizing investment in infrastructure, and improve engineering knowledge and competency.
