David Moore Joins HDR as East Region Civil Works Lead
David Moore has joined HDR as the East Region civil works lead.
Moore brings knowledge in planning, civil design, construction, risk-informed decision-making practices, consequences analysis, and flood hydrology for dam and levee safety programs. He has also delivered multiple Federal Emergency Management Agency Levee Certification reports for local sponsors and supported the United States Army Corps of Engineers in the delivery of flood risk and coastal storm risk management projects. Moore has worked on over 300 dams and levees throughout the U.S. during his career.
In addition to his dam and levee safety efforts, he has significant experience in flood risk reduction and led coastal resiliency projects in New York, Boston and Louisiana. His background in hydraulic modeling, consequence estimation and practical flood protection measures allows clients to make risk-informed decisions.
“We are excited for Dave to join HDR. Dave brings substantial experience to our rapidly growing east region, as well as being a proven leader to support our dam, levee and civil works program nationally,” said Bob Beduhn, dam, levee and civil works director. “His leadership in dam safety and flood risk management will strengthen our ability to support this key market.”
As an active member in the Association of State Dam Safety Officials, the United States Society on Dams, Ohio Dam Safety Organization and the Society of Military Engineers, Moore has served on numerous conference planning committees and technical subcommittees. He has presented over 30 technical presentations ranging from alternative delivery to risk assessment for the New Orleans Hurricane and Storm Risk Reduction System.
Based in Columbus, Ohio, Moore is a professional engineer and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Ohio University.
