HDR’s Holly Madara Transitions to Strategic Advisor Principal
Holly Madara, RA, RN, LSSBB, recently began a new role within HDR’s architecture practice as strategic advisor principal. In her new role, Madara will help lead the development and expansion of HDR’s healthcare planning practice from the Princeton, New Jersey, studio.
“In the rapidly changing environment of healthcare, HDR is careful not to miss a beat,” Madara said. “As a clinician and architect, I know that we have invested in a consulting arm of clinicians as well as those trained in lean, six sigma to help improve processes; with a black belt in lean six sigma for healthcare, HDR is truly a place where I can bring my past experiences to the table and contribute to healthcare projects.”
Madara’s experience crosses the boundaries of the healthcare and healthcare design industries. A practicing nurse for more than 15 years, Madara went into healthcare planning with a passion to improve the work environment for clinical staff, nurses and physicians and now holds over 25 years of experience as a healthcare planner. She has also worked with cardiologists and clinicians to enhance care with improved and new processes at a local community hospital as administrative director of cardiovascular services.
“Holly has been a key healthcare planner for our practice for many years and, through her nursing and administrative experience, her impact has been powerful,” said Vice President of Strategic Advisors Scott Foral, LEED AP. “This experience, coupled with her passion for lean processes, positions her as the ideal person to build upon our strong client base in the New Jersey region and deliver solutions to our clients that are on the forefront of healthcare design and planning.”
Madara earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing at Thomas Jefferson University and her Bachelor of Architecture at Temple University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in nursing in innovation and intra/entrepreneurship at Drexel University.
