Richard Papworth Joins HDR to Boost Service Offering With Civil and Structural Engineering Expertise
Richard Papworth, C.Eng, MIStructE, has joined HDR as a director of civil and structural engineering.
Working from the firm's Kingston and London offices in the U.K., Papworth is responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary civil and structural engineering projects. He will focus on strengthening and expanding the civil and structural engineering team to gain market share.
"I am so excited to be joining HDR," Papworth said. "I see this as a great opportunity to bring HDR’s forward-thinking practices into the U.K. and the Europe, Middle East and Africa market. At this point in my career, I am looking to push the boundaries of this profession from a cultural standpoint as well as from an engineering one."
Papworth has earned respect in the industry for his work on several developer-led projects in the commercial sector. He brings a wealth of experience to his position at HDR, having previously worked on a variety of challenging projects in a director-level role. This work enhanced his knowledge in designing and constructing buildings in several material and construction techniques.
He has demonstrated his technical and commercial skills in a variety of projects, including office, hotel, residential, student accommodation and mixed-use development.
