Manav Nirmalraj has joined HDR as a data engineer in our Omaha architecture studio. In this position, Nirmalraj serves as a key component of our data science team supporting the strategic planning phase of projects.

As a data engineer, Nirmalraj provides strategic input and development enhancements to our proprietary databases and data pipelines, often utilizing the power of automation. In addition, he provides detailed analyses and visualizations to derive greater value and meaning from data on a variety of projects. By streamlining data collection and analysis techniques, information is not only more accessible, but also more powerful.

"I thoroughly enjoy architecture, art and creativity, health science, and data analytics," Nirmalraj said. "Finding a job that encompasses all of these is a dream come true. Coming from several years studying and working within healthcare and architecture before switching to data science, I am beyond excited to unravel new connections across the various disciplines and see projects come to life at HDR."

Prior to joining HDR, Nirmalraj held various roles in science and tech, most recently working as an automation and database programmer at National Indemnity where he maintained and improved databases as well as automated reports and visualizations for departments throughout the company.

"Creating connections across data is the foundation for everything we do," said Managing Principal, Consulting Scott Foral. "Manav’s unique skills enhance our ability to develop these connections and transform data into meaningful information for improved decision making."

Nirmalraj earned three degrees from the University of Nebraska: two Bachelor of Science degrees at its Lincoln campus — one in biological systems and the other in economics — and a Master of Science in management informational systems at its Omaha campus.
