Marissa Segundo Joins HDR as Strategic Communications Waste Lead
Marissa Segundo has joined HDR as strategic communications waste lead.
Segundo provides advisory and consulting services for HDR’s waste, water and transportation clients. She also supports market development and manages strategic communication projects, tasks, and campaign development activities, including target audience analysis, branding, messaging and market research.
“I was intrigued by HDR because it’s a company passionate about its work and the work impacts the communities we serve,” Segundo said. “I’m excited to be part of a growing strategic communications practice of more than 200 HDR employees and help clients engage with their audiences.”
Segundo brings more than 20 years of successful strategic planning and media relations experience to HDR. She’s taken part in five industry publications and 20 conference presentations and webinars. Her work has won several industry honors, including the Waste 360 40 Under 40 Award and the Gold Excellence Award from the Solid Waste Association of North America.
“Increasingly we see waste clients in need of our full-service strategic communications, so I’m excited to work with Marissa to enhance these services across the country,” said Doug DeCesare, waste director and senior vice president. “Her experience and enthusiasm are contagious and we look forward to the creativity she will bring to projects.”
Segundo holds a bachelor’s degree from Southeast Missouri State University in public relations and Spanish. She’s passionate about opening doors for Hispanic communities and prioritizing diversity, equity and inclusion for clients.
