Allison appreciates creativity and artistic talent at every level, from food art to fine art to fabulous architecture. With more than 30 years of experience in workplace design, planning and research, she works with organizations worldwide to rethink both quantitative and qualitative aspects of work environments. Her comprehensive understanding of campus planning, space programming, utilization studies, post-occupancy evaluations, and conceptual design — for a variety of project types and scales — brings a depth of understanding that is unparalleled.

As Director of Workplace Strategy, Allison is well-versed in how new technologies, adjacencies, flexible research modules, and new work settings can accelerate discovery and the development of therapies for clinical care. Her depth of experience in translational health sciences projects equips her to envision optimized working environments for knowledge transfer — promoting synergy between research, educational and clinical activities. She has a proven track record of using mapping and data collection to identify promising program intersections, form new organizational structures and develop physical environments for multi-discipline research and clinical activities.

Today’s workplace is experiencing a metamorphosis with technology, mobility, employee engagement and choice driving the transformation. A traditional approach to workplace strategy, planning and design won’t yield the results that organizations need to thrive, today. Committed to principles of evidence-based design, Allison has spearheaded a decade-long workplace research initiative focused on seeking innovative ways to develop new space-efficient workplace paradigms for a rapidly changing workforce. Allison embraces a data-driven approach enriched by multi-faceted data mining as well as pre- and post-occupancy evaluation evidence to inform space needs and creative design solutions. She uses that data to develop workplace strategies that meet near-term and far-term business objectives within the cultural context of a specific organization.
