Senior Fisheries Biologist
Dave Ward leads river and fisheries work to formulate strategic, managerial and policy recommendations. He also likes the day-to-day challenge of facilitating collaboration among key stakeholders, including state agencies, federal agencies, tribes and other entities to reach consensus regarding issues relevant to anadromous fish.
Passionate about issues within the Columbia River Basin, Dave provides technical expertise in anadromous fish populations, both Endangered Species Act-listed and non-listed, to the Columbia Basin Fish and Wildlife Authority. Through this organization, Dave supports the Anadromous Fish Committee and Pacific Lamprey Technical Workgroup toward effective restoration and adaptive management.
Dave has designed and led both large and small fish inventory, monitoring and research projects. An accomplished scientific writer, he has published 17 peer-reviewed journal articles.
