Duane Gapinski, P.E., M.SAME
Senior Program Manager
Duane Gapinski is our U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Program Manager. He leads all phases of programs, from strategic planning through project execution. Duane also trains personnel on federal project and contract management.
Duane joined HDR after more than 24 years of military duty, serving as Commander of the USACE Rock Island District from July 2003 to July 2006. He also served as Commander of Task Force Unwatering in New Orleans, Louisiana — the operation to repair levees and floodwalls and pump the floodwaters after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Because of his accomplishments, Duane was selected as one of Engineering News-Record’s "2005 Top 25 Newsmakers of the Year" and one of the National Society of Professional Engineers' "Top 10 Federal Engineers."
Duane oversees or manages nearly 40 prime contracts HDR holds with USACE, including our contract for the USACE Jacksonville, Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Program, C-44 Reservoir and Stormwater Treatment Area.
