Joseph LoBuono, P.E.
Major Bridge Technical Director
“A good concept can be the basis for developing a winning proposal. It’s a good feeling to know your concept enabled a team to win, and it is achieved by the engineer fully understanding the construction process and integrating it into his or her design.”
After three decades of designing bridges, Joe’s passion today centers on delivering constructible designs for complex structures. He particularly enjoys developing innovative construction methods, schemes and special equipment. His work reflects his philosophy that reconciling innovative design with practical constructability inevitably leads to the best value for the client.
As our lead engineer for the historic Bayonne Bridge project, Joe has delivered about 30 presentations to industry peers about the project’s technical accomplishments. He has been active with the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Concrete Institute and the American Segmental Bridge Institute.
