With 18 years of experience, Kate is one of the industry’s leading experts in higher education planning and programming. Her work on over 250 campuses throughout the US has included campus planning for community and technical colleges, private institutions, regional comprehensive universities, flagship universities and Ivy League campuses. At HDR, she works with higher education clients to develop and build consensus around solutions that enhance 21st century learning, reflect the values of the campus and community, and support positive change.

Kate brings deep expertise in data-informed planning to her role. She helps clients incorporate their own campus data using robust analytical tools and combines it with her knowledge of space planning guidelines, utilization standards, and forward-focused metrics to develop solutions that generate success for campuses across North America. A recognized thought leader on higher education planning-related topics, Kate presents workshops at forums such as the Society for College and University Planning conference and previously developed space planning guidelines to support the 21st Century Learning Landscape.
