Paulo Faria

Civic Principal + Regional Director/Transport Architecture

With more than 20 years of architecture and urban planning experience, Paulo provides strategic leadership for the transportation architecture practice and technical expertise for multidisciplinary projects. He brings focused guidance on enhancing the user experience within multimodal projects through component design, urban realm programming, retail and art integration, maintenance and operations of transportation assets, transportation planning and information design.

Combining technical thought leadership with innovative design approaches, Paulo helps our clients and communities with their most difficult infrastructure challenges.

“As project stakeholders become more sophisticated in their design aspirations, I’m excited to be able to make the case for design thinking, design excellence and user-centered design on multidisciplinary programs.”

Paulo has worked around the globe — including Canada, Brazil, Qatar and the U.K. — and with many different modes of transportation such as aviation, transit and roads. His holistic approach to transportation architectural support is exemplified in two key projects in the eastern U.S. He is serving as the visual quality manager for the Newark International Airport design-build AirTrain BID in New Jersey and his role as the vision lead/design architect for the Long Island Railroad Enhanced Stations Initiative in New York. He also led the winning architectural and industrial design concept for the stops for the Qatar Education City people mover stops as project architect and project manager.
