Rich leads our site design practice in Princeton, New Jersey and New York, New York. He instills a culture of thoughtful innovation and collaboration to achieve planning and design excellence for site design projects. With over 40 years of practice experience, he has worked around the world to deliver site design excellence for a wide variety of projects.
Rich believes that our site design practice can help to extend, or "heal," the surrounding fabric of the communities in which we work. His design philosophy revolves around how well a building site reflects history, culture, community and vision. He believes that there is a larger social context, and he is inherently committed to designing places that will make a lasting societal contribution.
Giving back to the community is fundamental to Rich. He currently serves on the HDR Design 4 Others Leadership Board and has also served on the Board of Directors for Pamlico Rose, a Washington, North Carolina nonprofit that advances health and wellness programs for Veterans — “Vet by Vet.”
Rich is an adjunct professor at Rutgers University for the Spring term design studio. He has also published many articles including American Society of Landscape Architects Campus Planning and Design Professional Practice Network, Sustainable Site Design at Georgia Tech and The United Kingdom Science Park Association, UKSPA Property Development - ‘In the Right Place at the Right Time.’
Rich received his bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Rutgers University and is licensed to practice landscape architecture in New Jersey.
