Ted Nishioka

Senior Technical Advisor

Ted is a renowned leader in underground transmission who works alongside clients to design and engineer systems in busy, urban areas. He’s one of only a handful of engineers across the country with the expertise to design these intricate systems.

Since his first underground transmission project 40 years ago, Ted’s been a passionate advocate of the approach because of its safety and high level of reliability. He’s designed more than 50 miles of underground transmission lines, including an existing 230 kilovolt high pressure fluid filled pipe type cable that was lowered at an unprecedented depth of 25 feet below ground.

Ted is a life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and has held office on the IEEE Insulator Conductor Committee (ICC), Western Underground Committee, the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies (AEIC), and the Centre for Energy Advancement through Technical Innovation (CEATI).
