“I play the bagpipes. I play in two different pipe bands and I judge contests all over the country. I am one of four or five female judges on a panel of 50 in the United States, and I am active in the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association.
I started playing bagpipes in my high school’s band, which had a traditional British Grenadier theme. If you were a clarinet player like I started out as, you wore a red coat, a bear skin hat and black pants. But if you were a bagpipe player, you wore a skirt. I wanted to wear that skirt! But as soon as I started playing I was home. I was in instant love."

“My immediate family consists of my husband, two thoroughbred horses, two black lab mixes, and a cat, and spending time with family is my priority. My husband and I enjoy riding our horses regularly, working outside, playing with our dogs, traveling to visit family and taking vacations with friends. I also enjoy reading, and I love to learn.”

“My idea of a good time is experiencing all of the unique contributions that have been made to our world’s culture, while soaking up the local atmosphere and sampling some great food. Over the last few years, we have visited Italy, Spain, the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Ethiopia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Mexico.”
