Karen Curtis

Director

Karen is a director and senior health planner with over two decades of experience in space planning across healthcare, workplace and retail. For the past 12 years, she has focused on health facility planning and project management, and has extensive experience in the delivery of large scale and complex health projects. Career highlights includes her work on the $757 million NHS Health Care Complex and Walker Family Cancer Centre in Ontario, Canada, where Karen relocated to Canada to take on the role of senior architect for this public-private partnership project.

At HDR, Karen is the project director of our two largest health projects in Australia and New Zealand, including the Victorian Health Buidling Authority's Community Hospitals Program in Victoria and the $1 billion New Dunedin Hospital, the largest health-related building project in New Zealand's history.

Karen is also our Melbourne studio leader and is committed to working with the studio's next generation of practice leaders to create meaningful employee experiences underpinned by inclusion, collaboration and well-being.
