Work Set to Begin on $1-Billion Westmead Medical Precinct Redevelopment

Following extensive user group consultation with clinicians, patients, families and community members, work is set to commence on the $1-billion HDR-designed new Westmead Central Acute Services Building.

The new hospital building will provide a total of almost 96,000 square metres of space with a range of adult and paediatric services, including emergency, pharmacy, imaging, state-of-the-art operating suites and multiple in-patient units.

At 14 levels, the building is set to be one of the tallest acute care medical facilities in Australia on completion in 2020.
