Todd Young, P.E.

Todd is a mechanical engineer with over 26 years of experience in the power generation industry. As a hands-on project manager, Todd’s day-to-day role typically involves reviewing engineering, construction and commissioning documents as well as facilitating critical project communication between the client and HDR team members to ensure success.

He is passionate about helping people be successful, whether that means a client or fellow employee. He has come to learn that the technical issues are typically the “easiest part” to solve, but that supporting people along the way often times has a greater impact on success than the best technical solution.

At HDR, Todd led an owner’s engineer project for a 2X1 combined cycle plant that finished on time, on budget and achieved all performance tests. He also managed a talented and diverse HDR Envision team that enabled his client to achieve a Platinum rating on the first commercial combined cycle power plant.
