Kevin Augustyn, AIA, NCARB

Design Architect

“I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to help city leaders create projects that have a lasting impact on their communities and contribute to the built environment.”

As a design architect in HDR’s Omaha architecture studio, Kevin spends the majority of his time collaborating with his clients and colleagues to define a project’s design intent in order to work toward a cohesive solution. This involves producing imagery and developing stories that help drive the project forward.

Kevin has always been passionate about the impact that architecture has on the way we live our lives. We spend the majority of our time in built/ designed settings, and we can have positive or negative experiences in those settings depending on how they were designed, he said.

His most notable projects include Galveston Fire Station in Galveston, Texas, Humber River Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, Illinois and Baxter Arena and Do Space in Omaha, Nebraska.

Kevin has been recognized both inside of HDR with a Pathfinder of Distinction award and selection for the BOOST class of 2016, and outside of HDR with a 2012 AIA Central States Emerging Architect award. He remains connected with his alma mater, the University of Nebraska, as an adjunct faculty member and guest juror.
