Why Women & Girls Are Key To Climate Action – And What The Industry Is Doing About It

An article titled “Why Women & Girls Are Key To Climate Action — And What the Industry is Doing About It” has been published in The Fifth Estate and features some of the women that makes up HDR’s Australian education and science sector. The article discusses the importance of strengthening gender equity across the industry and why employing more women in renewable energy and sustainability roles is so important to the future of our global ecosystem. 

The article goes on to celebrate a number of HDR hires and internal promotions that have been made following significant project wins — and as part of the practice’s commitment to learning, development and diversity in the industry. The Australian education and science team now has 80% female representation across project leadership roles at a time where women make up just 16% of STEM qualifications.
