Buildings that Regenerate

Hamilton Center Regenerative Zero

Buildings magazine recently featured HDR's Regenerative Design Framework. This innovative, data-driven design framework challenges the fundamental thinking about long-term building operations and materials. The framework utilizes site-specific data to give users a better understanding of their site and the range of design strategies that could help them improve performance across 30 different performance metrics.

In this article, Colin Rohlfing, director of sustainable development, discusses both the societal challenges the underpin the need for the framework as well as his vision for how the framework will drive better decision-making in the future.
