HDR Launches Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan

HDR's Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) has been formally endorsed by Reconciliation Australia — a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing journey toward reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This endorsement presents both a responsibility and opportunity to meaningfully and respectfully embed First Nations perspectives into the civil and social infrastructure that shapes communities.

The Reflect RAP is grounded in HDR’s core values and affirms the company’s commitment to taking purposeful, long-term action. Through programs such as HDR’s ongoing participation in CareerTrackers, and the establishment of a dedicated RAP Working Group – supported by HDR’s Inclusion, Diversity & Equity (ID&E) Council — reconciliation is becoming an integral part of HDR’s culture, business and practice.

“As architects and engineers, we recognise the powerful role design plays in creating inclusive, connected communities,” said Simone Benvenuti, senior associate at HDR. “Through our RAP, we are committed to building authentic relationships, listening deeply, and ensuring First Nations voices and perspectives are respectfully reflected in the design and delivery of infrastructure across Australia.”

Brendan Botha, country director of operations at HDR, added, “We are dedicated to ongoing cultural learning and strengthening our understanding of the histories, cultures, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the professions, industries, and communities we work within – and to help shape a more inclusive, equitable future for all Australians.”

HDR looks forward to collaborating with partners, communities and First Nations stakeholders to take meaningful steps forward on the path to reconciliation.
