As civic director, Jim leverages his extensive experience to lead and support teams delivering civic, community and defence facilities across Western Canada. Passionate about creating innovative, sustainable and people-centred environments, he brings a thoughtful, stewardship-driven approach to projects that serve communities, government agencies and defence clients alike.
Jim guides multidisciplinary teams through the planning, design and delivery of complex public infrastructure and community-defining spaces. His leadership is grounded in collaboration, design excellence and environmental responsibility, helping clients achieve lasting value while strengthening partnerships and project outcomes. He is also committed to mentoring emerging leaders and advancing the future of architecture within HDR and in industry and academia.
His portfolio spans diverse projects, including civic facilities, office developments, mixed-use buildings and specialised defence infrastructure. Drawing on experience delivering facilities that support operational readiness, resilience and long-term asset performance, he understands the unique requirements of defence environments while remaining focused on the people and communities they serve.
