Dams Practice Leader

Based in our Denver office, Nate oversees all aspects of our global dams practice, driving strategic growth, technical excellence and innovation, while providing alignment with client needs and emerging industry trends. 

His experience spans the full life cycle of dam safety management, including risk assessments, dam safety reviews, failure mode analyses, safety improvement studies, capital investment prioritization, and major design and construction works. He has overseen the delivery of complex dam safety upgrades and rehabilitation projects, led independent technical review teams and provided executive-level risk advice for a portfolio of more than 700 federally regulated dams. He has led more than 20 dam and levee construction and modification projects, serving as design engineer-of-record, construction supervisor, senior reviewer and program manager.

Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership roles with both the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), including as Director of the USACE Risk Management Center, responsible for dam and levee safety policy, risk governance, and program oversight.

His leadership has influenced dam safety practices both nationally and internationally, including policy development for federal agencies and advisory roles for foreign governments.
