Building Alaska's Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage Hub

Esri recently featured HDR's work with the Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to develop the Alaska Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) Hub, an innovative geospatial platform designed to support the state's emerging carbon management and sequestration opportunities. The hub brings together decades of oil and gas well data, seismic surveys and land records into a single, user-friendly mapping resource.

HDR led the development of the GIS-based platform, drawing on the team's deep knowledge of Alaska's energy and regulatory landscape to transform complex subsurface data into an accessible decision-support tool. By integrating authoritative datasets into a centralized system, our team helped create a resource that promotes transparency, supports informed investment decisions and expands access to information about carbon capture and storage opportunities across the state.
