TEDxSt Louis: Buildings that Regenerate

The built environment is responsible for 39% of global carbon emissions. In a recent TEDxStLouis talk, our Sustainable Development Director Colin Rohlfing shares how regenerative design can reduce this number and even produce net positive impacts on ecology, health, and society.

Regenerative design reconnects humans and nature through the continuous renewal of evolving socio-ecological systems. Put simply, it’s design that allows buildings to sequester more carbon than they take.

Watch the video to see real-world examples of regenerative design in practice.
