Aaron Giesbrecht
Economic Consultant
Aaron is an economist and statistician with experience applying quantitative methods to policy, environmental, and infrastructure projects across Canada and the United States. Based in Vancouver, he focuses on building clear, defensible analytical frameworks that help clients understand complex datasets, evaluate risk, and make informed decisions.
His work draws on a wide range of statistical and econometric tools, including regression analysis, quasi-experimental designs, probabilistic simulation, and time-series methods. Aaron has contributed to projects involving groundwater contamination assessment, program evaluation, and user perception research, as well as developing scenario-based risk models and Monte Carlo simulations to support long-term planning. He works with R, SPSS, Excel, SQL, Power Query, and Microsoft Access to manage data, automate reporting and streamline analysis.
Aaron’s work focuses on translating technical results into insights that are practical and actionable. In his work, he emphasizes transparency, reproducibility and clear communication, showing that complex methods and assumptions are easy for clients and project teams to understand. Whether structuring a database, building a simulation model, or refining an econometric approach, he aims to deliver analysis that is rigorous, defensible and directly useful to decision makers.
