The Sienna Building is a striking 45,000-square-foot Grade A modern office building with adjacent multi-story parking lot located in Basing View, a vibrant urban business park in Basingstoke, U.K.

Our client, Muse Developments, worked in partnership with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council on the project and engaged our services for:

The offices will be the U.K. headquarters for global pharmaceutical giant, Eli Lilly and Company.

Harnessing Electric Power

Energy and Sustainability has been integral to our design process and the building is fully electric with reduced reliance on fossil fuels harnessing the decarbonization of the U.K. grid. It also achieved a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’ putting it in the top 25% of U.K. new non-domestic buildings for demonstrating advanced good practice in building sustainability.

A Tailored and Future-Proofed Design

As well as the client brief, Eli Lilly and Company fed into the design at an early stage, so their requirements were able to be accommodated more productively. Although being a pre-let building, it has been designed to ensure maximum future flexibility with duplicate risers to safeguard the potential for split tenancies on a floor by floor basis.

As the site was in a more suburban area, as opposed to a densely populated city such as nearby London, we were afforded greater design freedoms and thereby use of technologies. This, combined with our ability to adapt to local legislation requirements and market expectations, allowed us to maximize the potential of this project for our client.
