HDR Names Andy Yosten Building Engineering Services President
Andy Yosten has been named president of HDR's building engineering services (BES) practice. He replaces the retiring Paul Flatt.
Yosten most recently served as the Central Region director for BES. A graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, he holds a master’s in architectural engineering. He joined HDR as a mechanical engineering intern in 2005, officially joining the team full-time in 2007. Yosten began his career focused primarily on healthcare projects, eventually serving as both a managing principal of HDR’s Omaha, Nebraska, office and director of mechanical engineering. Over the last two decades, he has held several leadership roles, including managing engineering principal, vice president and regional business group director, and since 2020, Central region BES director, responsible for the overall leadership, vision, strategic direction and design excellence for the practice.
“Throughout my career, I’ve prioritised actively engaging with clients, organisations and community leaders to integrate innovation, sustainability and quality, all providing the highest level of service for our clients,” Yosten said. “It is an honour to be trusted with this new role and build upon the strong foundation of work created by Paul Flatt. We have the best professionals in the world on our global HDR team, and I look forward to our continued collaboration to further our impact.”
