The Alexander Orr, Jr. Water Treatment Plant is Miami-Dade County’s largest potable water production facility. We provided operational improvement and regulatory-compliance consulting at the AOWTP and the South Water Supply System through a multiple-year, on-call contract. We partnered with operators and staff to identify next steps to get the most function from their infrastructure. Our assignments included:

  • Facility and condition assessment
  • Lime kiln renewal and component replacement
  • Value engineering/analysis study of the switchgear building expansion
  • Preliminary engineering of natural gas bypass reducing station and pipeline
  • Settling basin influent study
  • Design of engine driven high service pump replacement

  • Feasibility planning for operation and maintenance storage facilities
