HDR Transportation Advisory Services Director Janet R. González Tudor, MBA, Prosci, STP, has been elected to a three-year term on the APTA board of directors as an at-large business member.

The American Public Transportation Association represents more than 1,500 public and private member organizations in the field of public transportation. APTA is a leading industry organization, connecting advocates for public transit across North America. APTA members formally voted on Oct. 7 to elect González Tudor and several other board members. She will join HDR’s Global Transit Director, Matthew Tucker, who serves as chair of APTA’s legislative committee and is a representative on the APTA board and its executive committee.

“APTA has an opportunity to lead and advise transit professionals and contributors to keep quality service running effectively and efficiently for the next generation,” González Tudor said. “I look forward to offering my expertise and passion for thriving transit-focused communities that reflect and support all riders.”

González Tudor leads HDR’s transportation advisory services, including business and financial management, infrastructure planning and design, asset management and operation, stakeholder engagement and more. She has served as a project leader and advisor on major transit projects in all regions of the United States and Canada, using her expertise to help owners deliver projects that benefit the entire community. She is also a longtime and passionate advocate of public transportation — she has been using it since before she could walk. This elected honor continues her deep industry involvement. She served a previous term on APTA’s board of directors from 2018-2021. She sits on the organization’s sustainability and resiliency committee, serving as chairwoman from 2018-2021.

“Janet has extensive expertise in the challenges and opportunities of today’s transit landscape,” said HDR Transportation President Tom McLaughlin. “I’m certain she will use her passion for transit and the people who use it to advance APTA’s mission and better serve our clients. We are thrilled to support her in this opportunity.”
