HDR’s Joshua Graham Named Society of American Military Engineers Fellow

Joshua Graham, P.E., CCM, PMP, a project manager and associate in HDR’s Spring Branch, Texas, office, was recently named a Fellow of the Society of American Military Engineers. Graham was named among the 26-member 2023 Academy of Fellows.

The Fellow distinction recognizes members who have delivered dedicated and outstanding service to the Society, military engineering, and the architecture/engineering/construction profession. Graham has been active in the SAME San Antonio Post since 2010 and serves as the Post’s immediate past president. The 1,000-plus member Post is among the largest of over 90 SAME posts, with more than 30,000 SAME members worldwide.

This year, Graham will graduate from the SAME National Leader Development Program and in May 2023, Graham will assume leadership of the SAME National STEM K-12 Community of Interest. STEM COI provides resources for a network of SAME Posts, individual members, sustaining members, service branches, and strategic partners to increase opportunities for science, technology, engineering and math exposure for K-12 students. The COI also promotes the Society’s STEM programming at local, regional, and national events and provides educational webinars, and authors STEM-related articles for The Military Engineer publication.

In 2018, Graham was awarded the National SAME Tudor Medal for engineering leadership by a civilian young professional. His past honors and activities in SAME include establishing a new student chapter at University of Texas San Antonio, serving as Engineering and Construction camp coordinator, San Antonio Post professional development director, and San Antonio post president in 2022.

Graham joined HDR in 2019 after a 10-year career as a U.S. Air Force Civilian Employee, finishing his Air Force Career as the Air Education and Training Command’s Facilities Investment Program Manager, where his portfolio consisted of 10 installations, over 11,000 facilities and a total plant replacement value of $26.3 billion.

Other HDR SAME Fellows include Mary Erwin, Jackie Hacker, John Henderson, Joe Schwarz, JJ Tang and Glen Turney. 

The Academy of Fellows will induct Graham in an investiture ceremony set for May 2-4 during 2023 Joint Engineer Training Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
