HDR’s Tim Raibley is a 2023 recipient of the Distinguished Individual Achievement Award from the Solid Waste Association of North America in the sustainable materials management category. Raibley, a senior project manager and vice president, will accept the award at the SOAR Conference on Tuesday, April 18.

The Distinguished Individual Achievement Award recognizes SWANA members for their contributions to their technical fields, support of the SWANA mission, and long-term service to the solid waste management industry.

Raibley has more than four decades of experience resolving solid waste diversion facilities, such as transfer stations, recycling, and mixed-waste materials recovery and organics processing. In the past decade, Raibley has particularly focused on the management of organic waste. He’s an active member of SWANA, supporting the SWANA Western Regional Symposium and serving on SWANA’s Gold Rush Chapter’s board of directors for several years.

Raibley takes part in HDR’s formal mentorship program and often makes time to meet with young professionals throughout the waste industry.

“Tim often helps his teams, clients and colleagues step back and think about how their work contributes to something bigger than the task at hand,” his nomination states. “Tim has been an industry resource throughout his career, helping others to grow and learn from his expertise.”

Raibley holds a degree from San Jose State University and is a licensed professional engineer.
